Activity 1 - Real Users

For the following pictures decide what existing or fantasy input/output devices would benefit them. Remember people have five senses sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing, so you might want to create devices for each of them – there is also the possibility of direct brain input.

 


Working Professional - Bluetooth mouse, Keyboard, Headphone.

                                      


      Old women  - Easy accessible 
display , Zoom in for Font, Vibration.                                            
Foreigner- Translation accessible in the Display ,Foreign keyboard.
                                          

Blind people -  Brail Keyboard, Sound technology for texting and task , Speaker.

 

 Family and children-  

Touch screen devices , smart phone, Tracking device for kids.



ACTIVITY 2


1.What do you need to know or be able to do to control a computer?

You should know about Input Device - Keyboard, Mouse pointer etc.

You should know about the processor and operating system.

Turn on/Shut Down/Restart

2) How do you want to control your computer?

With keyboard and mouse.

Activity 3

1) Consider the activities that you use a smartphone for?

Calling , Games, Media , internet access , taking photos , notes , Storing files , Texting

using an online shopping.

2) Consider how the hardware or software would need to be designed to enable somebody who is blind or has a visual impairment to do each task?

Calling people , Using software to confirm input using audio output ,Making text bigger , Read aloud text on webpage.
